The Impact Hub Hamburg has launched a new pitch event, the Zebra Investment Night, and set an example right from the start. Four startups received funding commitments totaling 135,000 euros during the event.

Four startups with fresh ideas and fresh funding
In startup jargon, zebras are companies that combine social or ecological impact with economic success. Eight of them presented themselves to an expert audience at the Zebra Investment Night, selected from 63 applications. What was special about the event was that a number of investors were also on site to initiate financing that same evening. For example, MUVN received 50,000 euros for the idea of organizing carpooling opportunities for objects. There was also 50,000 euros for greenspot. This startup helps to transform farms away from monocultures and towards more diversity through vegetable cultivation, which also leads to higher profits.
ValueGrain was promised 25,000 euros. This startup has developed a technology to turn spent grains from beer breweries into a nutrient-rich ingredient for baked goods. A pilot project with a manufacturer of frozen pizzas has already been successful. 10,000 euros went to CEBRA Talent for a workshop programme focusing on impact intrapreneurship. This is intended to strengthen employees' identification with their company and ensure greater innovation and productivity.

Nobody left the Zebra Investment Night empty-handed
The field of participants was completed by these startups:
hermaid with a support service for women going through the menopause
nextract energy with a solution for marketing supposedly surplus energy from renewable sources
fabel with an app for organizing home care
fainin with a platform for the rental of rarely used items
They do not go away empty-handed either but receive legal advice or so-called fast track tickets that entitle them to further investor meetings.
