Developers and gaming startups can apply for the Games Lift Incubator funding program of the Gamecity Hamburg location initiative until June 20. The most promising applicants will be invited to an online pitch by an award committee, after which five teams will be accepted into the incubator.
This is how the Games Lift Incubator works
Since 2020, Gamecity Hamburg has supported a total of 15 teams in the Games Lift Incubator in the development of digital games. The participants of the 2023 cohort receive financial support amounting to 15,000 euros, a comprehensive workshop program, the opportunity to exchange ideas in the new innovation space of Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft in HafenCity, and access to the Games Lift Network with experts from the international games industry. The workshop phase of the funding program begins on September 11 and ends with the closing event in early December. After graduation, Gamecity Hamburg will support the teams in phase 2 until September 2024 with additional meetings and individual coaching by mentors and a PR agency specializing in indie games.
