Application start for Gamecity Hamburg prototype funding
From March 7 to April 8, founders, startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can apply for Gamecity Hamburg's prototype funding. Up to 80,000 euros will be awarded per project, with a total of 400,000 euros available for the development of games in 2024.
A diversity check is mandatory for the application
With this funding round, Gamecity Hamburg is introducing a diversity checklist, which is intended to contribute to more diversity in teams and the content of prototypes. Answering the checklist is mandatory when applying for prototype funding. Applicants' answers can optionally be used by the awarding committee when evaluating projects. Applicants whose team and/or project enriches the diversity of Hamburg's games landscape can receive a bonus in the evaluation. Conversely, applicants are not disadvantaged in the evaluation process. The awarding committee will decide on the awarding of funding after the end of the application phase on the basis of the submissions and a subsequent pitch.
Eligible to apply for prototype funding are individuals, teams and companies that are already based in Hamburg or are relocating their headquarters here or opening a branch in Hamburg. A consultation with Gamecity Hamburg is mandatory and is recommended at least two weeks before the submission deadline on April 8 in order to optimally prepare applicants for the application.
