The decision has been made: in 2025, Gamecity Hamburg will support the development of six computer games with up to 80,000 euros each as a non-repayable grant. The prototype funding is intended to promote startups and consolidate Hamburg's status as a games stronghold.

These are the 2025 funded projects

Including this seventh funding round, the prototype funding programme of Gamecity Hamburg has supported the development of a total of 37 gamess since 2020. The 2025 funding recipients were selected by the awarding committee, consisting of Hamburg industry experts Nina Müller (VP Publishing & Development Services, Goodgame Studios), Jonas Hüsges (Publishing Director, Daedalic Entertainment), Valentina Birke (Director Indie Arena Booth / Super Crowd Entertainment), Michael Schade (CEO & Co-Founder ROCKFISH Games) and Dennis Schoubye (Head of Gamecity Hamburg). They decided in favour of the following projects:

  • NeverLight from Nightless Games - 80,000 euros

  • Pet Universe from Tivola Games - 80,000 euros

  • Space Station Manager from gameXcite - 80,000 euros

  • Unbreachable from Buckfish - 72,000 euros

  • Deep Fog Signals from Symmetry Break Studio - 32,000 euros

  • Cosmic Run from Zinktank Labs - 30,000 euros
