traceless materials and C&A launch first pilot product
Hamburg-based startup traceless materials has developed textile hooks made from its plant-based biomaterial traceless. In a pilot project, fashion retailer C&A has been using the traceless hooks to replace conventional plastic hooks for socks in its Hamburg Altona store since December 8.
A small hook can solve a big problem
Every year, around 8 to10 billion coat hooks are made from conventional plastic worldwide, of which only a small proportion are recycled. In particular, the smaller disposable hooks pose a recycling challenge due to their size. The development project launched jointly by traceless materials and C&A now aims to identify a solution.
Crowning of a successful year for traceless materials
With traceless, the startup founded by Dr. Anne Lamp and Johanna Baare offers a material alternative to plastics and bioplastics. It is based on plant residues from the agricultural industry and is compostable, plastic-free and climate-friendly. After being founded in 2020 and commissioning its first production plant at the beginning of 2022, the sock hooks will be the first pilot product to be tested on the market.
For the Hamburg-based startup, the project is the successful conclusion of a fruitful year. For example, traceless materials was able to enter the winners' lists at both the Hamburg and German Founders' Awards.
