Lignopure focuses on lignin, a major fraction of plants that has been considered one of the most "stubborn" biopolymers to valorize - the possible uses have long been discussed, but so far only very few have made it to the low-price applications. Thanks to our patented technology, our vision is to show that lignin can also be successfully used in high-valuable applications like cosmetics/food/pharma and thus pave the way for lignin in the raw material transition, which plays a crucial role in the transformation to a more sustainable future and economy. In the EU bioeconomy strategy, efficient use of existing side streams like lignin are described as a key to a circular, biobased economy.
