The Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V. has a total of just under 1,200 members and was founded in Berlin in September 2012. The association sees itself as the representative and the voice of startups in Germany. It represents the interests, viewpoints and concerns of startup companies vis-à-vis legislation, administration and the public. It promotes innovative entrepreneurship and carries the startup mentality into society. The association is best known for its annual Startup Monitor, for whose current edition almost 2,000 people from the startup scene were surveyed.
There are a total of 15 regional groups with currently 39 regional speakers.
