Early-growth investor EKK & Co. from Stuttgart has invested a seven-figure sum in Happy Sprinkles. The Hamburg-based startup is already successful worldwide with its colourful sprinkles and other baking ingredients via its online shop.
Happy Sprinkles has fans as far away as Singapore
Founder and managing director Lilli Merks now wants to use the fresh capital to further accelerate growth. The plan is to develop new products and expand marketing activities. The expansion of the B2B business, particularly abroad, is also to be driven forward. The startup has its origins in a café called Bunny & Scott, which had to close due to restrictions during the Covid pandemic. The company Happy Sprinkles, which emerged from this café already back in 2018, caused a stir with its sprinkles right from the start and even received orders from countries such as Singapore and Saudi Arabia.
This has not gone unnoticed by various investors, mainly from the tech scene. They have now been joined by EKK & Co. Its Investment Manager Moritz Reck comments on the financing as follows: “Happy Sprinkles as a company and Lilli as a founder are a great addition to our portfolio. We firmly believe that we can continue to write the Happy Sprinkles success story together. True to the motto ‘Spread happiness’, the aim is to put a smile on customers' faces.”
