High six-figure sum for 3D Spark
With its first round of financing, Hamburg-based startup 3D Spark is opening up good growth opportunities and offering its customers planning security for the next two years. The money comes from Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg and Fraunhofer Technologie-Transfer Fonds. The high six-figure amount could become seven figures in a second closing until March 3, 2023.
3D Spark helps save costs and resources
3D Spark aims to maximize the efficiency of industrial production of components and assemblies. To this end, the founders have developed software that automatically identifies potential for cost and resource savings in manufacturing. Based on 3D CADs, 2D drawings and metadata, it determines the cheapest, fastest and most sustainable manufacturing process for each component, currently focusing on industrial 3D printing. In this way, the software supports industrial employees worldwide in making smarter production decisions and thus makes a measurable contribution to more sustainable, crisis-proof and efficient production.
In summer 2021, the founding team received an EXIST start-up grant from the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) and the European Social Fund (ESF) and additionally won the "Scientific Innovation Award 2021 of the Rotary Club Hamburg-Haake". In September 2021, 3D Spark GmbH was founded. In summer 2022, the startup won a national founder award at the "Gründerwettbewerb Digitale Innovationen" of the BMWK and also received InnoRampUp funding from IFB Innovationsstarter GmbH. 3D Spark won a spot in the AI Accelerator program of the AI.STARTUP.HUB in fall 2022. The team consists of eight members and will now grow further.
