The freelancer platform WorkGenius, founded in Hamburg, starts 2023 with a new success story: After the acquisition of the American recruitment agency JBC last summer, the New York agency WorX has now also been purchased. The WorkGenius Group has thus grown to almost 300 employees within six months.

WorkGenius continues to expand its presence in the USA

WorkGenius was founded ten years ago by Marlon Rosenzweig and Daniel Barke. The success of the freelance management platform led to its expansion into the U.S., where its headquarters are now located in New York City. With the acquisition of JBC in 2022, Bryan Zaslow and Keith Geller were added to the management team. The combined company has seen strong growth driven by the digitisation of staffing, the shift from traditional employment to freelancing, and strong growth in end markets served. The WorX agency adds mid-eight-figure revenue, a well-established team and an extensive client and freelancer roster to WorkGenius Group. Founded by Alicia Fazio and Amanda Levit, the company operates primarily in the United States.

“This acquisition is proof that our strategy to create new momentum in the 500 billion freelancer market with our technology is paying off. The acquisition of JBC has already brought enormous benefits for our customers and freelancers, which can now be further enhanced by the acquisition of WorX.”
Marlon Rosenzweig, CEO of WorkGenius
