On December 7, the grand finale of the "Female StartAperitivo" event series took place at the betahaus coworking space. The event format aims to help female startup founders gain more visibility and better access to funding rounds. Next year, Female StartAperitivo will become a nationwide competition.
Female StartAperitivo offers competitions and workshops
Overall, the Female StartAperitivo finale was the 16th event in a series that started in 2021 with a competition for female founders in Hamburg. In 2022, female entrepreneurs from the northern German states of Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania also took part. Next year, North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg and Berlin will definitely be joining in, and other German states have already shown interest. The competition final, scheduled for July 6, 2023, will thus become a nationwide event.
Female StartAperitivo is organized by the Hamburg Investors Network, which is part of IFB Innovationsstarter GmbH. Support is also coming from the City of Hamburg's Department of Economic Affairs and Innovation. Among other things, it made the Female StartAperitivo Academy program possible. On the one hand, the aim here was to provide female founders with the know-how they need to succeed in business. Other workshops aimed to get more women involved as business angels to close the funding gaps that women-led startups still struggle with.
Numerous initiatives for female founders
The event offered several initiatives the opportunity to introduce themselves to the audience. Among them were:

The Körber Foundation, which is planning a startup program for Generation Z.
Plug and Play, whose female founder accelerator FoundHER is launching in 2023.
The Startup-Unit of Hamburg Invest.
Techniker Krankenkasse with its startup program Social Pizza.
Gründerinnen-Stammtisch and Breeze, two initiatives currently being set up that were inspired by Female StartAperitivo.
