This year marks the fifth edition of the Female StartAperitivo startup competition. The grand finale will take place in Berlin on 27 June, preceded by ten semi-finals in ten federal states. In Hamburg, the time will come on 5 June at the Kent Club. In this article, we present the ten startups that have qualified for the pitch.

One focus topic: health

To participate in Female StartAperitivo, at least one woman must be part of the founding team. Apparently, female founders are particularly committed to medical topics, as five startups from the Hamburg semi-final are in this field:

  • Panadea offers tests for tropical and recently emerging infectious diseases.

  • VitaSeq is a diagnostic platform for the early detection and prevention of brain diseases.

  • Zilentix is developing a virus-based therapy for the treatment of brain tumours.

  • The weeks helps mothers in the time after birth with a postnatal app.

  • bettersoon takes care of the health of pets with its platform.

Platforms, apps and analysis tools

The other five qualified startups are primarily entering the race with software solutions:

  • Muvn is a carpooling platform for objects instead of passengers.

  • P-ick offers a multilingual app designed to help with the search for internships, jobs and vocational training.

  • PLOVITI is developing a real-time navigation tool for shopping centres, airports and supermarkets.

  • SceneContext analyses TV content for advertisers with a focus on streaming services.

  • Tebbl specialises in extracting in-depth insights from qualitative data.
