Hamburg's startup scene is particularly diverse, which is also reflected in the numerous events and funding opportunities available. Two examples are Zebra Investment Night and Deep Tech Innovation Sprint, for which applications are now being accepted.
Zebra Investment Night
Zebra Investment Night celebrated its premiere in March 2025. Eight startups competed in the pitch organised by Impact Hub, four of which secured funding totalling 135,000 euros. The event was looking for startups that could successfully combine social or environmental impact with profit. The second edition will take place on 19 November, with the application phase running until 28 September. These are the most important conditions for participation:
Your startup has already been founded, and your company is based in Germany.
You are currently in the pre-seed or seed phase.
You have a plan to become profitable and scale up in the next few years.
You already have an initial prototype or a minimum viable product.
Deep Tech Innovation Sprint
The Deep Tech Innovation Sprint is a non-profit initiative that promotes innovative and sustainable business ideas and strengthens the entrepreneurial skills of researchers. The aim is to increase the number of startups originating from science. Organised by Impossible Founders, the programme takes place from 10 to 17 September and offers the opportunity to
work in interdisciplinary teams on real industry problems.
