8 million euros for shipzero in Series A financing round
Hamburg-based logistics startup shipzero has closed a Series A financing round totalling 8 million euros. A new financier is London-based environmental technology fund ETF Partners. The existing investors are also participating again, including Rethink Ventures from Munich, the investment company zu na mi (Göttingen) and Raspberry Ventures, also from London.
shipzero helps the logistics industry with decarbonisation
shipzero offers a data platform for effectively recording and reducing emissions in global freight transport. Shippers, logistics service providers and freight forwarders can use shipzero to manage transport emissions and pave their way to net zero emissions. Data from over 80 million transports in more than 100 countries has already been incorporated. With the fresh funds, shipzero plans to further expand its internationalisation and the company's industry-leading emissions data platform. In the coming weeks, the startup will implement a solution called Book & Claim, which will enable customers to invest even more flexibly in reduction measures within their own transport chain.
shipzero is benefiting from the increasing efforts to decarbonise the industry. Freight transport currently accounts for 10% of global carbon emissions. Offerings like shipzero's help to significantly reduce the environmental impact of the logistics and transport industry. Leading companies such as Hellmann, BSH Hausgeräte and the Nagel-Group are already using the platform.
