More visibility and a town hall reception for the STARTERiNNEN

Female founders could apply to become STARTERiN Hamburg 2024 in the tech, commerce and impact categories until the end of January. Hamburg Startups is now presenting the 36 selected candidates - including some duos and a trio - on its website and the community can vote for their favorites in a public vote. The voting phase ends on February 29. The two female founders in each category with the most votes will present their startup ideas on March 14 on the stage of the Digital Hub Logistics in a pitch in front of an audience and a panel of experts. Katharina Fegebank, Second Mayor and Senator for Science, Research, Equality and Districts of the City of Hamburg, will once again act as patron. She will receive the winners for a meet & greet in the town hall.

Last year, Virginia Thrun and Nadine Schneider from Mom Hunting won the title in the tech category. Mariam Guede and Lioba Jarju from Black Female Business were successful in the Impact category, while Elke Jensen from CityCaddy was STARTERiN Hamburg 2023 in the commerce section. The competition aims to give female startup founders more visibility and encourage more women to set up businesses. According to the German Startup Monitor 2023, their share of founders in Germany is just under 21%.
