The Deutsche Gründerpreis is one of the most prestigious business awards. On September 13, 2022, it was awarded for the twentieth time in Berlin in the categories StartUp, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement and school pupils. The award for the best startup of the year went to traceless materials from Hamburg.
This continues the success story of the company founded by Dr. Anne Lamp and Johanna Baare. A week earlier, traceless materials had already won the Hamburger Gründerpreis. The explanation for the nomination for the German Founder's Prize states, among other things: "traceless makes an organic dream come true: A waste product that is itself already organic is processed in an environmentally friendly way and replaces a problem product."
traceless materials produces materials from plant residues from agricultural production that have many of the beneficial properties of plastic - but are 100% biocircular, naturally compostable and climate-friendly. The materials were developed with all impact indicators in mind, so they have a holistic positive impact on the environment. The intermediate product is a granulate that can be processed by the plastics industry into end products to replace plastic and bioplastics.
The successes at the Hamburg and Deutsche Gründerpreis are not the first ones for traceless materials. In 2021, the Hamburg-based startup was even the most awarded in Germany. Here are some more milestones:
May 2021: seed funding round in the seven-figure range.
June 2021: second place at the Future Hamburg Awards.
September 2021: exclusive partnership with OTTO.
October 2021: a grant of 2.42 million euros from the European Innovation Council.
November 2021: first place in the 15th Darboven IDEE-Fördderpreis.
May 2022: Johanna Baare becomes Newcomer of the Year at the German Startup Awards.
June 2022: best Startup at the Wissenschaftspreis
