Final sprint for applications for the German Startup Awards 2025
On 22 May 2025, the German Startup Awards gala will take place in Berlin for the sixth time. The organiser is the German Startups Association. The awards will be presented in eight categories to outstanding personalities from the startup scene. The nomination phase runs until 20 October.
How the German Startup Awards work
Nominations for the German Startups Awards can be submitted both by the individuals themselves and by supporters. After the nomination deadline, a pre-selection will be made based on defined criteria. Ten candidates per category will reach the next phase. From January to March 2025, various meetings of an expert jury will then take place, at which the top 3 and finally the award winners will be determined in several stages. The three finalists in each category will be announced on 31 March, and the candidates and the public will finally find out who has won at the official awards ceremony in May.
Female and male newcomer of the year
Anyone who founded their first startup in 2023 and 2024 is eligible to enter.Female and male founder of the year
The startup must be at least three years old and less than ten years old.Female and male investor of the year
Anyone who has invested in at least one startup as a venture capitalist in the last twelve months can be nominated.Female and male impact entrepreneur of the Year
Candidates must have founded at least one startup with a long-term social or sustainable impact in the last five years.
Angela Relógio, founder and CEO of TimeTeller, won the title of Newcomer of the Year from Hamburg in 2024.
