Female StartAperitivo gives female founders nationwide visibility

In November 2021, the Hamburg Investors Network hosted the Female StartAperitivo competition for the first time with the goal of giving female founders, who are still underrepresented in the startup world, more visibility and better access to investors. The format was an immediate success and attracted attention far beyond Hamburg's city limits. This year, ten German states are participating, each sending one candidate to the finals, which will be held in Hamburg on July 6. Already qualified are Anymate Me from Cologne and Phaeosynt from Hanover.

The Hamburg semifinal will take place on June 14 at eeden in the Altona district. There, ten female founders will each be given three minutes to pitch their startup and their capital needs. The audience and a jury of experts will decide who will ultimately receive a ticket to the German finals at Knust. All startups with at least one woman in the founding team or the management and the company headquarters in Hamburg can apply. The closing date for entries is May 25. Further semi-finals will take place in Munich (May 26), Frankfurt am Main (June 6), Kiel (June 16), Berlin (June 20), Leipzig (June 20), Karlsruhe (June 29) and Rostock (June 29).
