Hamburg's premier address for startups from the healthcare industry is the Health Innovation Port (HIP). The coworking space was founded by the health insurance company Techniker Krankenkasse (TK), the medical technology company Philips and the city of Hamburg and is also a regular venue for events. One of these is the pitch for the HIP Innovation Award, for which startups can apply until September 1.
The prerequisite for participation is a business model that both addresses a topic from the health sector and contains a sustainability component. The term is broadly defined, and the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a good orientation in any case. Goal 3 is explicitly defined as "health and well-being for all people at all ages."
The sustainability aspect of the business idea therefore belongs in every application to be submitted in the form of a pitch deck. Other important points are:
State of the art in science and technology - What is the technology?
Founding team
Market size
Target group
Field of application
Competitors and differentiation from them
Goals and plans
Funding status
Send your pitch deck by mail to healthinnovationport@philips.com by September 1. The final will take place on September 29 at HIP. The finalists will have the opportunity to make helpful contacts with investors and decision-makers from the healthcare industry. Event partners are the HIP founding members Asklepios, AsreaZeneca, the apoBank, the High-Tech Gründerfonds and the Gesundheitswirtschaft Hamburg GmbH. The winning team will receive attractive prizes, including a Health Innovation Port membership.
