For the fourth time, the German startup metropolises Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Cologne are looking for their Startup-Champs. With the joint event format, the four cities want to make the importance of startups and technological progress understandable and visible and give young founders a stage. In 2023, the competition will focus on "Digital Health".
These are the conditions of participation
Applications are open to startups that were officially founded no more than five years ago on March 1, 2023, and that have a registered office in the Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin or Munich economic region. The business model or the product or service of the startup must be clearly related to the focus topic of digital health and demonstrably pursue an innovative and scalable approach. In addition, a functioning or verifiable prototype or service must already exist. You can submit your application up to and including March 31.
After the application deadline, a pre-selection process will take place, which is the responsibility of Hamburg Invest in Hamburg. Based on objective criteria that are the same for all four partner cities, three finalists per city will be selected to compete in the final of Startup-Champs goes Digital Health at WERK1 In Munich on June 22, 2023. Participation is mandatory. They will arrive on June 21, 2023, and on the day of the finale, all twelve qualified startups will compete against each other in a pitch competition. The pitch language can be either German or English. The four regional winners and the national winner will then be selected by a jury of experts. The winning teams can expect valuable prizes.
