The Music WorX support programme has been bringing startups from the music industry from all over Germany and beyond to Hamburg since 2011. The five teams from the 2025 cohort recently presented themselves in a public pitch, with Sounts from Munich winning the audience award.
Five startups from four cities at Music WorX 2025
The incubator, organised by Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft, divides its programme into three phases, each lasting one month. The highlight of the “Connect” phase, which serves to build a network, is the Public Pitch. The only startup from Hamburg to compete there was NOVER Audio Services, which brings professional recording studio equipment to amateur musicians via small vans. Two startups from the current Music WorX batch come from Berlin: Just 4 Noise uses artificial intelligence to create sound and rhythm elements for music pieces according to individual specifications, while ohr brings DJ sets from clubs back to life online at home and names the tracks played. And Postal Sounds from Madrid offers city tours that focus on the music scene.
Sount enables people to make music together across borders
Sounts from Munich received the most votes in the public poll and thus a cash prize of 1,000 euros. The idea of bringing amateur musicians from all over the world together to make music via the internet was convincing. Not all participants even have to be present at the same time. They can contribute independently of each other and remain anonymous. Over 1,000 musicians from more than 30 countries have already come together on the platform. Whether the concept will also appeal to a jury of experts will be revealed at another pitch at the end of November, which will take place behind closed doors.
