Next.Generation Incubator seeks social entrepreneurs of the future
Anyone who is under 30 and has a concrete idea for a social enterprise that is ready to be founded can apply for the Next.Generation Incubator until 15 August. This is a four-month support programme run by the Körber Start-Hub in cooperation with the Startup Port university network. Teams of two to five people from the Hamburg metropolitan region are eligible to participate.
How the Next.Generation Incubator works
The programme, which is designed to further develop startup ideas, is accompanied by experienced coaches. It includes workshops, individual mentoring and independent work time and is dimensioned for about 15 - 20 hours per week. The Körber Foundation makes its new coworking space in HafenCity available for this purpose and connects the participants with important stakeholders. After the final pitch, the teams can qualify for the prototype workshop that directly follows. Over a period of up to six months, they are provided with funds to test their solution and make it ready for the market. Non-profit startups can then also apply for a startup scholarship, which secures financial support for two years.
After the application phase, a jury of five experts will decide on participation. The kick-off dinner will then take place on 12 October. The final pitch is planned for 23 February 2024. In between, the funding programme will take place with, among other things, eight workshops that build on each other and focus on the following topics:
Social orientation: team building, creating impact logic of the idea und testing it through user research.
Innovation know-how: pitch training, design thinking, developing prototypes and test scenarios.
Business practice: business model, finances, planning market launch.
