The US company Lucid Software has announced the acquisition of airfocus. The Hamburg-based startup offers an AI-supported platform that helps teams prioritise their work and develop products faster. Lucid Software is a market leader in visual collaboration and has over 100 million users worldwide.

airfocus is already internationally successful
airfocus was founded in 2017 by Malte Scholz, Christian Hoffmeister and Valentin Firak. The startup supports product management with its flexible, modular solutions for roadmapping, prioritisation and results-oriented planning. airfocus is already used by leading companies such as Ricoh, GoodYear and Wago and aims to enable teams to make better decisions and act quickly. The acquisition by Lucid Software represents the next chapter in airfocus' growth, which is supported by investors such as XAnge, Nauta Capital and others. Previously, a total of 15 million US dollars in venture capital flowed into the startup, most recently 7.5 million US dollars in January 2024.
Lucid Software's product is called the Visual Collaboration Suite and consists of Lucidspark (idea generation), Lucidchart (diagramming) and, most recently, airfocus. It supports teams in the planning and realisation of complex projects. Lucid works with Google, Atlassian and Microsoft, among others, and is one of the most frequently used platforms in the Fortune 500.
