Three Hamburg startups celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2025
In addition to their high degree of innovation and great growth potential, one key characteristic of startups is their young age. With Breeze Technologies, Cybus and Fashion Cloud, we present three successful Hamburg startups that are ten years old in 2025, marking the end of their startup phase.
Breeze Technologies
Breeze Technologies addresses the issue of air pollution and offers both hardware and software solutions. Miniature air quality sensors measure all important pollutants – for example, soot, nitrogen oxides, ozone, particulate matter and many more. The data is collected and analysed in real time via a cloud platform and supplemented with information from external sources. The technology is suitable for managing air quality in buildings and large cities, for monitoring emissions from industrial plants and for the early detection of forest fires. Breeze Technologies has received numerous awards, including the Hamburger Gründerpreis in 2017.
Cybus
For a while, the Internet of Things (IoT) dominated the startup headlines. Those days are over, but some companies are still very successful in this field. One of them is Cybus with its Connectware software solution. It collects, processes and distributes data from industrial production. Cybus's customers are companies from sectors such as automotive, metal processing and mechanical engineering, among them KRONE, Liebherr, Handtmann and Schunk. The advantages of the software include a reduction in machine downtime, production waste, energy consumption and thus costs.
Fashion Cloud
In many areas, brick-and-mortar retailers are struggling to compete with the internet, not least in the fashion industry. The original idea behind the startup Fashion Cloud was to make local retailers competitive through digitalisation. Fashion Cloud has since developed into Europe's leading B2B platform for the fashion world, connecting brands and retailers. The merger with competitors from the Netherlands in 2018 and 2021 was instrumental in the internationalisation of the company. Another milestone was the spin-off of the sales agency in:season in 2024.
