On June 13, 2022, the tradition-steeped Hamburg Chamber of Commerce at the Food Innovation Camp (FIC) will be transformed into a marketplace for the most important trends from the food industry - from protein alternatives and plastic-free packaging to automation in the catering trade. For the first time, the program will include a show kitchen and an audience award for the best newcomer.

More and more people are putting their diet to the test. In addition to taste, criteria such as sustainability, organic and regional cultivation, vegetarianism and veganism and the topic of health are increasingly coming into focus. Innovative start-ups with a willingness to take risks have good chances to conquer the food trade with new ideas products.

In 2017, the Food Innovation Camp gave such startups a stage in Hamburg for the first time. The event was a success from the start and connected decision-makers from retail, gastronomy, the hotel industry and investment with up-and-coming founders from the food scene.

Celebrities on stage and a new audience award

After a break of two years, the fourth edition of the Food Innovation Camp will now take place on June 13, with more than 80 exhibitors from all over Germany and beyond. From Hamburg, among others, UNMILK, Tastillery and Traceless will be there. The conference program will feature such prominent speakers as Ralf Dümmel and Dr. Georg Kofler from the startup show "Die Höhle der Löwen" (the German version of „Shark Tank“) and Olympic weightlifting champion and food founder Matthias Steiner. Hamburg's Second Mayor Katharina Fegebank will give the welcoming address.

A new feature of the program is a show kitchen, where well-known and aspiring chefs will create delicious small dishes using products from food startups. In addition, guests at the Food Innovation Camp can choose the winner of the "Dein Newcomer 2022" competition. The award ceremony will be the final highlight of the one-day event.
