AI startup Oxo won two innovation awards
Good times for Hamburg-based startup Oxolo: it won two innovation awards for its artificial intelligence-based video creation platform. First at the E-Commerce Germany Awards 2023, which took place for the sixth time in Berlin, and just recently at the d3con Innovation Award 2023 in Hamburg.
An international team and an AI for advertising videos
Oxolo was founded in Hamburg in 2020 and quickly grew into a team of computer scientists from all over the world with hundreds of scientific publications and numerous doctorates. It consists of people with over 15 nationalities speaking 20 languages. Founder and CEO of the startup is Heiko Huberts, who previously led the video game company Bigpoint to success, among others. Co-founder and CCO is Elisabeth L'Orange, who has worked at both a startup (FLIO) and a VC company (Neuhaus Partners GmbH).
Oxolo's innovation is an e-commerce video tool to create automated videos to improve and increase conversion and engagement. The promotional videos are generated by an artificial intelligence (AI) and require no equipment, no editing, and no prior experience, just a simple URL or an upload of text and images. The basis for the AI avatars are real people who are modified by the artificial intelligence to give the videos a believable feel.
