Our mobility patterns are changing, especially in cities. Congested roads, increasing urbanisation and the need for sustainable solutions require new concepts and ideas for both inner-city and inter-regional areas. Promising startups are coming out of Hamburg's startup scene, especially in the field of mobility, which are focusing on environmentally conscious and future-oriented solutions.

The Hanseatic city is also one of the world's most important locations for the civil aviation industry and within the Hamburg Aviation Green initiative is working to realise emission-free aviation, thus making a major contribution to climate protection.

Intelligent concepts from Hamburg

Whether software for car-sharing companies, e-bike trailers for transporting goods or the promotion of hydrogen propulsion in the logistics sector: mobility solutions from Hamburg startups have the potential to overcome tomorrow's challenges within the industry.

Among them is the idea of the company NÜWIEL. The founding team Natalia Tomiyama and Fahad Khan have developed a battery-powered bicycle trailer that can be used to transport heavy goods in cities. This enables a sustainable, effective and flexible way of transporting goods, which companies like IKEA or UPS already rely on. NÜWIEL's goal is to be able to offer its trailers to private individuals for transporting goods in the future.

Wunder Mobility has also successfully established itself on the market. The company is the world's leading provider of software and hardware for scooter, bicycle, moped and car sharing.

Making mobility easier and more sustainable is also the aim of the Free Now app. It can be used to book various mobility services in many German and European cities.

The demands on mobility are becoming increasingly diverse: it needs to be flexible and individual, intelligently networked, persuasive in terms of sustainability and, at the same time, reduce the burden on people and the environment caused by the increase in traffic. This can only be achieved with good mobility management and well thought-out ideas. With numerous mobility projects, Hamburg is a model city for diverse transport and logistics solutions. In the metropolis on the Elbe, land, sea and air transport come together and so offer the best conditions for startups that want to test innovative concepts and drive forward the mobility revolution.
