What you can expect from Female Entrepreneurship Week 2023
The Female Entrepreneurship Week 2023 will take place in Hamburg from 13 to 19 November with the aim of opening the doors to the startup world to women and giving female founders more visibility. The startup service of the University of Applied Sciences (HAW) and other knowledge organisations from the Startup Port joint project are responsible for the programme.
A total of twelve programme items are on the agenda for Female Entrepreneurship Week. The programme includes workshops and discussion rounds on topics such as networking, resilience, argumentation and self-confidence. The events will take place partly online and partly at various locations in Hamburg, for example at Forum Finkenau. This is also the venue for two special programme highlights.
The kick-off event Week Up! on 13 November will provide an insight into the startup world for everyone. It is aimed at active female founders, interested female students and any woman, who has an initial idea in mind. Various female experts and entrepreneurs will talk about their startup journey, share practical knowledge and give tips to provide inspiration and motivation. Following the main programme, there will be an opportunity to exchange ideas with the founders and ask specific questions in a small group.
The Startup Port Campus Pitch will take place on 14 December. Each university and research institution from the Hamburg metropolitan region, that is part of the Startup Port, has nominated a team, that is still in the early stages at the time of the pitch and has not yet founded a company. The evaluation criteria include social or ecological impact and a diverse team composition. The winners are decided by a jury and the audience, with the main prize being 500 euros.
