These startups were funded by IFB in November 2025
With Fermeta, youturn and Luma Life, IFB Innovationsstarter GmbH in November once again added three promising startups to its support programmes. The topics covered are climate protection and dementia.
Fermeta
When it comes to climate change, avoiding CO2 emissions is the top priority, even though methane is many times more harmful. This gas is produced not least in agriculture during the digestion process of cattle. The startup Fermeta is developing a feed, jokingly referred to as an ‘energy drink for cows’, which can significantly reduce methane emissions. Production by fermentation is also resource-efficient and can be carried out decentrally. To advance the project, Fermeta is now receiving InnoRampUp funding.
youturn
Another new addition to the InnoRampUp programme is youturn, which can transform the concrete jungles of large cities into vibrant biotopes. Climate change threatens many natural habitats, and their destruction in turn accelerates global warming. youturn wants to break this vicious circle and bring biodiversity to where you least expect it: urban areas and buildings. Artificial intelligence helps with the planning, which should only take a couple of minutes, and the actual implementation then takes place within a few days.
Luma Life
In an increasingly ageing society, dementia is becoming an ever greater problem. For those affected, Luma Life is developing an app with an AI-based voice assistant that reminds users of daily routines, meals, medications and appointments, conducts personal conversations, answers questions and plays cognitive games. Family members also benefit from the service, as they are always kept informed about the health status of their relatives. Admission to the InnoFounder programme enables Luma Life to push ahead with the launch of the app.
