The Chamber of Commerce in the heart of Hamburg is always worth a visit, but now it is also coming to the city's districts. With the new event format ‘Handelskammer Hamburg on tour’, it is going to places where ideas are created and the economic future is shaped. Altona-Ottensen kicks things off - on July 16, 2025, the Zeisehallen will be transformed into a meeting place for entrepreneurs, creatives, founders, students and the urban community.

Top-class line-up for the panels

The event will focus on questions that concern many people and companies:

  • How is the district developing?

  • What opportunities are there for trade, startups and employment?

  • What significance do topics such as artificial intelligence, climate protection, creative industries or sustainable urban development have?

Don't miss these prominently cast panel talks:

  • “A district in transition - ALTONA, WHAT'S NEXT?” with Melanie Parr (Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld), Christina Veldhoen (Neues Amt Altona) and Sven Ebert (Mercado), among others

  • “In focus: creative industries” with Rocko Schamoni, Roland Bös (Scholz & Friends), Malika Rabahallah (Filmfest Hamburg), Doerte F. Meyer (DFM Mode)

  • “MISSION POSSIBLE - change and resilience are possible” with Tatjana Kiel (Klitschko Ventures) and Katharina Wolff (STRIVE Magazine)

  • “Talents of tomorrow - how we can attract them” with Jan-Henri Kalinowski (founder and CEO ChefTreff) and Matthias Henze (CEO Jimdo)

The best opportunities for learning, networking and celebrating

Other highlights include AI and social media workshops with digital expert Patrick Klingberg as well as several programme items on the topics of climate protection and sustainability. On the agenda, for example, is a network meeting as part of the Chamber of Commerce campaign “We act for the climate” with Isabelle Gardt (CEO OMR), Svend Göran Kressel (Head of Sustainability HASPA), Sabine Posselt (GF Filmconnecke) and extreme weather expert Frank Böttcher. You can get advice in the HK-Service Lounge on topics such as founding, financing, succession, energy, the environment and crisis resilience. Science City Hamburg will also be presenting itself and providing information about Altona's largest urban development project. Finally, there will be a networking evening (19:30 - 21:00) in a relaxed atmosphere - with music and finger food at the afterwork. Participation in the entire event is free of charge.
