Hamburg is one of the leading media locations in Germany. This applies just as much to the major print media such as DER SPIEGEL or DIE ZEIT as it does to the communication channels of the digital age. On the multimedia website City of Content, visitors can follow the stories of successful content formats from the Hanseatic city.

The campaign was initiated by nextMedia.Hamburg, the location initiative of the media and digital industry. At the launch, the leading company for the production and marketing of podcasts in Germany, Podstars by OMR, the German streaming pioneers Rocket Beans TV and the first talk show format for the Instagram generation, "deep und deutlich" from NDR, will be taking part.

"Capturing the diversity of Hamburg's content industry and its close connection to the ever-growing technology sector is a challenge. But the first three cases from Hamburg's media and digital industry that we are presenting as part of our campaign epitomize what makes Hamburg's media landscape so unique: diversity, a wealth of ideas, a passion for good content, and a good understanding of technology as an important driver of the industry. We are proud of Hamburg's media world and are happy to give its unique success stories a platform."
Dr. Nina Klaß, Head of nextMedia.Hamburg

The location initiative nextMedia.Hamburg is supported by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg as well as committed companies and innovative actors and has been part of Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft since 2018. Its core task is to promote and support new, sustainable business models at the interface of content and technology.

The most important funding program is MediaLift, where startups and solopreneurs from the media world receive financial support of up to 15,000 euros. This is supplemented by extensive coaching and networking opportunities. Other projects and programs deal with the connections between the media industry and other areas such as mobility, climate protection, artificial intelligence and much more.
