Mach 17 Award: Digital startups with sustainable solutions wanted!
The United Nations has defined a total of 17 goals that should lead to sustainable development on an economic, social and ecological level. For many startups, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) serve as a guideline for their entrepreneurial activities. The competition for the Mach 17 Award, which will be presented under the motto "Digitizing the Global Goals," addresses such startups. The deadline for applications is August 15.
The prize will be awarded on the final day of solutions:, which takes place from September 7 to 9 and is defined as a "congress for digital transformation”. The organizer is the IT company Silpion and the venue is the Kampnagel cultural center, which is otherwise known primarily for music, dance and theater performances. The solutions: deals with the digitalization of society and the world of work and has sustainability as one of its key topics.
To be eligible to apply for the Mach 17 Award, a startup must consider at least one of the 17 SDGs in its business model. It must also meet the following conditions:
Startup and product are not older than three years.
The company operates nationwide, ideally also internationally.
The solution that supports the sustainability goals is digital in nature.
A one pager or a three-minute video must be submitted for the application.
A panel of judges will select five finalists from all eligible submissions, who will be announced on August 25 and allowed to compete in the finals on September 9. These prizes are up for grabs:
Financial support of up to 5,000 euros or IT services worth twice that amount - depending on requirements.
Reach, PR and publicity.
