Hamburg-based startup Holy Technologies has secured 4.3 million euros in a financing round. The funding will enable the construction of the world's first autonomous factory for lightweight components in Hamburg. These components are necessary to reduce fuel consumption, increase the range of vehicles and boost efficiency in many industries.

A pilot plant from Holy Technologies is already operating successfully

Since its founding in 2022, Holy Technologies has built a fully functional pilot plant. The Holy Technologies platform automates the production of lightweight components with an AI-controlled robot system and an integrated recycling process that enables complete material recovery at the end of life for reuse in equivalent applications. Replacing manual processes enables faster product development, greater flexibility and circular material use on an industrial scale. The system is designed to be material-independent and scalable for carbon, glass, aramid and natural fibres.

Holy Technologies has already secured purchase agreements for thousands of components and established partnerships with leading suppliers in the automotive industry, motorsport, industrial toolmaking and orthopaedic technology. In a recent collaboration with a Formula 1 team, Holy Technologies demonstrated a 20% weight reduction compared to existing components.

The current financing round involves Rockstart, Vanagon, SANDS, Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg and EIT Manufacturing, as well as renowned business angels including Adrian Locher (Merantix AG), Matthias Dantone (Ellipsis Ventures), Christian Vollmann (C1), Markus Kerkhoff (Poppe+Potthoff), Kai Müller (PowerCo) and Timm Moll (Moll Group).

“The race to restore Europe’s industrial edge is on. This funding helps us scale our system to deliver what our customers need most: radically better components, at the highest speed.”
