The Hamburg Senate decided to establish a Female Founders Program. This will bundle and significantly expand existing activities in order to improve private financing options through venture capital in all startup phases from the pre-founding to the growth phase. One measure in this context is the strengthening of the Female StartAperitivo pitch format. The next important event in the series will take place on September 15 at the Knust.
Workshops and cooperations as additional offers
The Female StartAperitivo celebrated its premiere on November 10, 2021, when six female founders pitched for the favor of the audience and the attention of investors. This is also the main objective of the competition organized by the Hamburg Investors Network of IFB Innovationsstarter GmbH, the Startup-Unit of Hamburg Invest and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. Here is where the Senate would like to start. Thus, for this year, the offer for the participating startups is to be expanded to include workshops. These are oriented entirely to the needs of female founders and focus on the areas of financing, internationalization and law. Cooperations with well-known players from the Hamburg startup ecosystem are to be involved, as well as private providers.
On 31 August, twelve startups with female leadership compete to qualify for the finals on September 15. There, two of them will meet two each from the northern German states of Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The StartAperitivo event format is not limited to female founders; competitions on the topics of "Logistics" and "Impact" have also already taken place.
