Success Stories Startups Ecosystem Hamburg

Hamburg-based green tech startup Rabot Charge has closed its seed financing round, attracting High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and vento.io as new investors in the second seed closing. This strategically expands the circle of previous investors, consisting of yabeo Impact, Arsago Ventures and two Hamburg-based family offices. In total, Rabot Charge now has 4.5 million euros in capital, of which three million euros have already been raised in the pre-seed round (April 2021) and the first seed closing (November 2022).

"With HTGF and vent.io, two investors come on board who are an ideal strategic fit for us due to their experience in the energy sector and their proximity to the automotive industry, respectively. As the round was oversubscribed, we were unfortunately not able to take all interested parties with us."

Rabot Charge optimizes electricity costs

At the heart of Rabot Charge's solution is an app and an AI-based algorithm developed in-house. This allows predictable electricity consumption to be shifted to times when plenty of cheap green power is available and real-time exchange electricity prices are particularly low. In this way, Rabot Charge enables the targeted use of available green power capacities and low-price phases during the course of the day. For this purpose, the startup offers dynamic electricity tariffs based on real-time exchange electricity prices, which regularly fall below the usual price level of fixed electricity tariffs during the course of the day and week.

Rabot Charge will use the fresh capital for sales expansion and customer-oriented product development; Sonja Rogojew will be responsible for driving the latter. She has been with Rabot Charge since its inception in 2021 and will now join the executive team as CPO. Rogojew has more than ten years of experience in the energy sector, including positions at Verivox and EnBW. She will focus on usability and customer journey as well as develop further product areas, such as B2B applications.
