Change of leadership at Digital Hub Logistics Hamburg
Julian Kakarott is to become the new Managing Director of the Digital Hub Logistics Hamburg. He succeeds Erik Petruschke, who will be leaving the hub at his own request at the end of November. Kakarott has been an active member of the Digital Hub community since 2018. In 2022, the industrial engineering graduate founded the startup CarbonStack, which is dedicated to climate protection.
The Digital Hub Logistics is a hotspot in the Hamburg ecosystem
At the Digital Hub Logistics Hamburg, established logistics companies work side by side with startups, investors and research institutions to drive forward the digital transformation of the logistics industry. Digital Hub Logistics GmbH is a company managed by Logistik-Initiative Hamburg Service GmbH and the Hamburg Ministry of Economics and Innovation. It is also one of 12 hubs in the Digital Hub Initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection. The corporate partners include 29 companies, including Shell, Volkswagen Group Logistics, Otto Group and Lufthansa Industry Solutions. There are also collaborations with numerous further partners from the Hamburg ecosystem. The coworking space in the Speicherstadt has an area of more than 3,000 square metres and the community includes over 100 startups.
Julian Kakarott wants to use his experience as a founder to help the hub represent the interests of startups even stronger than before. To this end, expertise in areas such as digitalisation and sustainability is to be further expanded and new products and services are to be established. His startup CarbonStack analyses the feasibility and effectiveness of regional reforestation projects and provides recommendations for investments in climate protection.
