Female StartAperitivo, the pitch event for female founders, is entering its fourth round. More visibility, more attention, more capital for female entrepreneurs - that is the aim of the event. Initiated by Hamburg Investors Network and WEstartupSH, the pitch competition will once again take place in ten cities across Germany in 2024. The application phase for the Hamburg semi-final ends on 12 April.
How the competition works
Almost nine times more venture capital: this is what male teams received on average in 2022 according to the Female Founders Monitor. Female startup founders lack access to investors. In addition, the proportion of women in management positions at startups in Germany is only 20 per cent. The Female StartAperitivo event series aims to draw attention to these deficits and to send out positive signals.
Ten semi-finals throughout Germany, a grand finale in Hamburg, everyone wins in the end: the Hamburg Investors Network and its partners offer female founders the big stage to present themselves to a jury, investors and a large audience. Startups with at least one woman in the founding team or on the management board can apply.
The competition takes place in two stages. Firstly, semi-finals with ten startups each will be held in ten federal states from April to May. One winner each will then receive a place at the grand final in Hamburg on 6 June. In addition to prize money of 5,000 euros, there are various prizes to be won in the areas of startup coaching and mentoring. The semi-final for Hamburg will take place on 15 May and applications will be accepted until 12 April.
Female StartAperitivo is not only an experience for female founders, but the pitches are also one of the highlights of the startup calendar for the audience. They offer the best opportunities to find out about the latest trends and ideas in the scene and to expand your network. And all this without having to invest a cent, because the tickets are free. You can get them here for the semi-final at Proberaum Oberhafen and here for the final at Knust.
