1KOMMA5° receives double-digit million euro financing
Hamburg-based startup 1KOMMA5°, a specialist in climate-neutral energy solutions, confirms it has closed a double-digit million euro deal with 2150, a venture capital firm based in Copenhagen, London and Berlin that invests in projects to sustainably redesign urban living spaces.
1KOMMA5° plans to invest in its own products
Among other things, 1KOMMA5° will use the funds for the further development and expansion of the software applications around Heartbeat and a new research and development center in Berlin with more than 100 employees as well as a test lab. The Heartbeat solution, which was developed in-house, enables intelligent energy management, coordinates the photovoltaic system, wallbox, heat pump and electricity storage system and networks the home with the electricity market.
In addition, 1KOMMA5° announces its own solar module production in Germany from 2024. The startup, founded in 2021, has already launched its own solar module at the end of 2022, which is produced with polysilicon from Germany, thus using raw materials from more sustainable and efficient production in Bavaria and Saxony. In the coming year, the next step is now to set up a local solar module production in Germany. The facility is to be located in the new German states. This could create up to 1,000 new jobs by 2030.
