cirplus is a global B2B marketplace for circular plastics. By connecting the plastics and recycling industries, cirplus makes it easy and efficient to turn waste into valuable resources. cirplus also sets missing standards for recycled plastics (DIN SPEC 91446) and thus acts as a digital catalyst for a change to 100% circular plastics.
About the founders of cirplus
The startup was founded in December 2018 by CEO, Christian Schiller, and Volkan Bilici. Christian was previously responsible for building what is now the world’s largest digital ride-sharing platform, BlaBlaCar, with more than 80 million users, as the first employee in Germany. Volkan brings 21+ years of software & blockchain development experience to the team as CTO.
Milestones & plans
Since the launch of the platform in April 2019, cirplus now has 1100+ active users from more than 99 countries worldwide. cirplus has received multiple awards (Solar Impulse Foundation 2020; Digital Procurement World Award 2021; Sifted: “Rising Star” 2022) and is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The startup will continue to expand, e.g. to Southeast Asia and Mexico.
