In 2000, the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius founded Bucerius Law School, Germany’s first private law school. Modernising the study of law and contributing to the visibility of German jurisprudence in international discourse were the aspiration. Bucerius Law School is the platform for academic, professional and personal exchange that transcends disciplinary, linguistic and cultural boundaries. Our shared experiences and successes have created a special sense of community that we call the “Law School Spirit”. The law school sees itself as a place for academic encounters and the training of the next generation of lawyers, as well as a platform where forward thinkers and pioneers can engage in constructive and critical exchange with practitioners.
