Beyond Emotion developed an AI-based software that analyses facial expressions and emotions. The technology has been developed in order to virtually connect people in need of care (e.g. elderly, or dementia patients) and living in care facilities or at home, with their relatives. For this purpose Beyond Emotion uses a digital photo frame with an integrated camera. Information about the care recipients’ well-being are shared and regularly updated. This way psychological stress on relatives’ side is reduced and everyday care facilitated. The privacy of all actors involved is granted at all times according to European GDPR guidelines via Edge Computing.
