With the early-stage funding program Media Lift, nextMedia.Hamburg supports business ideas at the interface of content and technology once a year. Now the 5th batch has just started. We present the five startups that are going through the incubator until October 2023.

Three from Hamburg: fuse.space, Lit-X and OneGuide

Three startups from Hamburg have made it into the Media Lift incubator in 2023.  One of them is fuse.space with a platform on which creative exchange as well as intellectual property rights are recorded in an unalterable history using blockchain and thus secured against theft or unauthorized use.

Lars Leipson and Sebastian Hermanns of Lit-X address three core problems in the literary industry: strong bestseller-driven sales, increasing cost pressure, and lack of digital data availability. Their solution is an AI-powered platform that makes international literary data accessible to distributors, authors, publishers and agents in order to identify success drivers.

With oneGuide, city trips become more fun, informative and accessible. Wiebke Nadzeika and Marlon Lückert have developed an app in which sights are provided with additional information from audio content and augmented reality. The app uses artificial intelligence to compile personalized city tours that match users' individual interests, preferences and budget constraints.

Anymate Me and Penemue

Julia Leduc and Kay Law, with their Cologne-based startup Anymate Me, have created a solution that automates the production of videos - presented by an AI-based, lifelike avatar designed to facilitate operation by users. In contrast to traditional production methods, Anymate Me is said to be up to 15 times faster and 95% cheaper.

Using artificial intelligence to combat hate on the web: This is the idea of Penemue from Freiburg. With their startup, Jonas Navid Al-Nemri and Sara Boukal have developed an AI solution that recognizes hate speech in 89 different languages and offers the possibility for individuals to move safely in the digital space. It also allows digital platforms and companies to automate much of their community management.
