Hamburg comes out on top at the Startup Champs 2024

Hamburg-based startup Participayed is the winner of Startup-Champs 2024. Moreover, Finstep, also from Hamburg, secured the special prize from the savings banks in the pitch competition. The event was part of the Fintech Festival FIBE Berlin, which took place for the first time in Berlin's CityCube.

A high-calibre jury of investors also selected four regional winners from three candidates from each of four German startup strongholds. The winners were Tilta for Berlin, Sub Capitals for Munich, Xaver for Cologne and Participayed once again for Hamburg.

Fintech was the theme of the Startup Champs 2024

The Startup-Champs were chosen for the fifth time in 2024. The competition serves to network the respective ecosystems of the four leading German startup metropolises. The theme of this year's competition was Fintech. Under this umbrella, all startups that combine technology and finance and thus offer their own target group innovative added value were able to take part. Finstep, Participayed and intuitive.ai qualified from Hamburg. Finstep is an app for financial education for young people. Participayed is developing the first digital payment method for people in care. intuitive.ai builds software that enables companies to manage their data, decisions and processes via a platform.

The main prize for Participayed is legal advice from the commercial law firm HEUKING worth 2,000 euros. As the Hamburg regional winner, the startup can also look forward to a ticket to the international startup conference Slush, which will take place in Helsinki from 20 to 21 November, as well as a pitch spot in the FIBE format "Späti-Talk" this Thursday, 25 April 2024. Furthermore, Hamburger Sparkasse invites Participayed to the Hamburg Founder Award 2024 gala, which will take place on 9 September. As the winner of the special prize from the savings banks, Finstep will receive a pilot workshop at the Sparkassen Innovation Hub in Hamburg.
