Application phase for the 5th Gunnar-Uldall-Wirtschaftspreis is underway
Since 2019, the Gunnar-Uldall-Wirtschaftspreis has been awarded to promote the values of the social market economy. The competition primarily addresses founders of startups, there is a total of 15,000 euros to be won. The deadline for applications is July 31.
The participation conditions
The prize is named after the politician Gunnar Uldall, who died in 2017 and was, among other things, economic policy spokesman for the CDU/CSU-Bundestag parliamentary group and Senator for Economics and Labor in Hamburg. The award focuses on the following criteria:
entrepreneurial action in the spirit of the social market economy
sustainable and innovative business idea
strong personality with courage, vision and decision-making power
social competence in business management
Applications can be sent to info@gunnar-uldall-wirtschaftspreis.de by July 31. Applications are open to any company from the Hamburg metropolitan region that has a startup idea that meets the criteria of the competition. The application should include a description of the business model and its viability. In addition, the applicants should explain why they deserve the prize. The length of the application should not exceed two pages. A short video is optional, but not expected. The best applicants will be invited to a 20-minute presentation at a meeting of a Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees, whose members have had close personal, professional or political ties with Gunnar Uldall over many years, will then determine the three prize winners. First place receives 10,000 euros, second place 3,000 euros and third place 2,000 euros. The previous main prize winners are Appinio (2019), NÜWIEL (2020), Plancraft (2021) and dpv-analytics (2022).
