Since 2017, the Hamburg-based Next Commerce Accelerator (NCA) has been supporting startups that develop innovative solutions for retail and e-commerce. For the 11th batch, the application phase has now started and will last until August 14, 2022.

Hamburg has a long tradition as a trade metropolis. Maintaining this tradition and continuing it in the digital age is one of the tasks of the NCA. More than 50 startups have already benefited from the program, which is supported by over 20 companies, including such well-known names as Beiersdorf, Tchibo and Hamburger Sparkasse.

The six-month program will take place remotely, which is why not only startups from Germany but from all over Europe can apply. Experience shows that several hundred applications are received, so participation in itself is an award. In addition, there will be customized coaching sessions and workshops with mentors from a pool of over 200 people. The program also includes contacts to potential partner companies and investors. A majority of the participating startups have been able to close a financing round within six months of the end of the program.

A condition of participation in the NCA is the sale of shares in the company. There are four models, all of which include the full funding program:

  • Giving up 2% equity, without financial support.

  • €25,000 for 4% equity.

  • €50,000 for 8% equity.

  • Up to €150,000 for participation of an additional investor. The valuation and thus the amount of equity to be given will be negotiated individually.

Interested parties can obtain further information and apply here https://nca.vc/. After the end of the application phase on August 14, all submissions will be evaluated by the NCA. The program will then start on October 25 and the final highlight will be the Demo Day on March 23, 2023.
