Afro-German pitch competition AiDiA enters the second round
Last year, AiDiA, the first startup competition for Afro-German startup founders, celebrated its premiere - with great success. Therefore, there will be a continuation on September 2, 2023 in Hamburg. Applications for the competition, which is held in two categories and offers up to 30,000 euros in prizes, are open until April 16.
There are prizes in two categories
A total of eight startups from Germany, Austria or Switzerland will be given the chance to present their business ideas to a competent jury. Six finalists will be selected by the AiDiA Advisory Board, an independent panel of experts from business and science. In addition, two teams have the opportunity to win a golden ticket via a social media campaign and move directly into the final.
The competition will be held in two categories. The Idea Pitch is open to all black entrepreneurs who have already developed a marketable idea but have not yet officially founded a company. The maximum prize money is 2,000 euros. The Founder's Pitch is intended for startups that have already been founded and ideally can already demonstrate initial success. The prize money here is up to 30,000 euros. Preparatory workshops are held for all finalists.
The application phase ends on April 16, and all applicants will receive their acceptance or rejection on May 13. Ideally, the following criteria should be met for a promising application:
A convincing pitch deck.
An innovative business idea.
Prospect of commercial success.
Social impact.
A promising team constellation.
