Food Cluster Hamburg

Founded on 2 September 2024, the Food Cluster Hamburg is the central platform for the food industry in the metropolitan region. Our goal is to bring companies, research institutions, start-ups, and policymakers closer together in order to jointly develop solutions for the challenges and opportunities of our time. The cluster is operated by Food Cluster Hamburg GmbH – established by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg (51%), the supporting association foodactive e.V. (44%), and Süderelbe AG (5%). Through its supporting association, Food Cluster Hamburg represents around 160 leading companies in the food sector in Hamburg and the wider metropolitan region.

We are the dynamic network of the food industry in the Hamburg metropolitan region. Our platform enables both established businesses and start-ups to make valuable connections and exchange knowledge in order to learn from one another. In addition, we provide close links to science and politics, ensuring that all key stakeholders are connected. Our combined expertise covers all relevant areas of the food industry – from production and sustainability to quality management and logistics, right through to sales. Our extensive network also facilitates the search for investors.
