Starting signal for 15 new transfer projects from science and research
To strengthen the transfer of ideas, knowledge and technology in Hamburg, the "Calls for Transfer" (C4T) funding program supports project ideas from scientists at Hamburg's state universities. For the eighth time, the program promotes innovations from all scientific disciplines whose realization would fail without suitable funding. From a total of 40 submissions, an independent committee selected 15 project ideas whose practical implementation can start in early February 2023.
More than 100 ideas have already been implemented thanks to C4T
Twice a year, C4T finances project proposals with a funding amount of 30,000 euros, which can be used flexibly. Since 2018, more than 100 ideas have already been put into action through the funding program, which included new patents, corporate collaborations and spin-offs, as well as socio-cultural projects and artistic exhibitions. In their selection, the committee's experts focus on applications that are particularly convincing due to their practical approach. Projects are approved that show the potential to realize something new within the economy, politics or society or to bring about real change through interdisciplinary cooperation.
The eighth round of C4T again highlights the diversity of innovations from Hamburg's accademic landscape. While the ideas and concepts of researchers from technological disciplines focus primarily on new solutions for zero emissions, climate protection and the acute energy crisis, the approved concepts of scientists from non-technological disciplines concentrate on the sustainable improvement of the living conditions of various groups in our society.
In total, the Authority for Science, Research, Equality and Districts is supporting the selected projects with over 2 million euros within the second funding period of the program in order to strengthen the Hamburg metropolitan region through new collaborations, technologies and creative concepts that have an impact on the economy and society. While the now approved projects can start in February of the new year, the ninth call of the funding program is already in the starting blocks: Next March, researchers from all Hamburg universities will again be able to apply for the program.
C4T is operated by the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH). The project is implemented and coordinated by Hamburg Innovation.
