Join the COLIPIan family as a Metabolic Engineer and be at the forefront of developing the world's potentially fastest biological CO2 transformation bioprocess. COLIPI is dedicated to fermenting renewable carbon for generational life quality, utilising microbial CO2 transformation to produce valuable biomaterials and contribute to the intensifying fight against global warming.
Identify, design, and optimise metabolic pathways for bacterial CO2 transformation into valuable microbial storage molecules.
Evaluate and execute strategies to modify and enhance routes for target molecule production from CO2 in our innovative patented bioreactors.
Lead a team of experts (Genetic Engineer, Biological Technical Assistant) to develop genetic tools for accessing COLIPI's CO2-utilising bacterial strains.
Plan and analyse experiments in genetical/metabolic engineering, ensuring efficient and sustainable processes.
Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations to communicate findings both internally and externally.
Advanced degree in Metabolic Engineering, Synthetic Biology, Biochemistry, or related field (PhD with industry and academic experience in Metabolic Engineering).
Familiarity with (gas) fermentation processes.
Strong background in molecular biology, genetic engineering, and synthetic biology techniques (e.g., Knock-Out/Overexpression, directed evolution, plasmid-based engineering, CRISPR/CAS9).
Experience with sequencing technologies and proficiency in analysing omics datasets using bioinformatics tools.
Knowledge of autotrophic metabolism, carbon fixation pathways, and central carbon metabolism.
Capable of forming and leading a scientific team.
Legal permit to work in Europe.
Willingness to deal with startup "chaos" and shape scalable processes for future rapid growth.
Be part of an international team, blending academia with passionate startup vibes.
Work on groundbreaking climate action technology with Europe's leading microbial carbon capture experts.
Embrace an open feedback culture, flat hierarchies, and short decision-making processes.
Opportunity to grow into a key leadership position in a future-proof company.
