The Hamburg-based startup MyTaag, whose founders already made headlines as the youngest participants in the TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen", has scored another success. It has received 500,000 euros from Schoeller Holdings in a financing round.
MyTaag wants to establish the digital business card
When Davis Zöllner founded MyTaag in 2020, he was only 16 years old, and his co-founder Berkay Cankiran was just one year older. Together, they developed the "Taag", a digital alternative to the traditional paper business card. They utilise smartphones and a technology that is also used for cashless payments in supermarkets, for example. MyTaag made its breakthrough in 2021 with an appearance on the startup show "Die Höhle der Löwen", where Carsten Maschmeyer invested 50,000 euros and received 30% of the company shares in return.
The latest financing totalling 500,000 euros was completed at the end of 2023 and has now been officially announced. The investor is Schoeller Holdings Ltd. based in Limassol, Cyprus. Founded in 1978, the investment firm normally focuses on the shipping, hotel and catering industries. MyTaag estimates the current company value at 3.3 million euros and plans to expand its present team of twelve. In addition, the fresh money is to be channeled into the further development of the technology for the digital exchange of contact data and the expansion of the customer base. This already includes all BMW dealers in Germany and RTL.
